Art Exhibitions For This Summer

25 Jul 2015, by Fernanda Garcia de Jalón in News, Where to go

The Gossip has it, that this mind blowing exhibition curated by Andrew Bolton, “China Through the Looking Glass”, exceeded its 500,000 visitors 3 days ago. And when that happened, Bolton himself was ready and waiting for a photo op with the unsuspecting guest. He surprised Bianca Klamt, a Brazilian tourist.

Lucky her! But luckier us, the Met has extended its run all the way to Labor Day due to the high attendance. At this rate ,“China Through the Looking Glass” is set to break the records that the Alexander McQueen exhibit holds by having received 661,509 visitors in a span of 15 weeks, and extended its hours on the final weekend.

So, if you haven’t seen it yet, you still have one more opportunity! It is a beautiful exhibition that captures the essence of oriental inspiration. Fashion can be thought to be an outsider of the art world, but you would be amazed of how close to it it really is. The handcrafting of all the materials and detailing of each piece is truly a work of art.

…And for all of those who will not be able to make it to the Big Apple, here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Best Wishes!

Your art curator, Fernanda Garcia de Jalon
